Unit 7 Assignment 1

In some cases people may change when something bad happens but not all the time. But in my case it changed me I was having family issues and it brought me down my attitude towards things were different i didn't want to do anything everything was negative around me. It took a minute for me to realise that wasn't the best Way to go eventually i flipped my situation and became more focus and now it seems everything is going good i just have to take it one day at a time. But far as it being that opposite way around the person may experience something bad and still end up doing the same things that may have caused the problem, that's just how the person maybe and they may not ever change.

Unit 6 Assignment 6

The only other time i can think of an Affair that the U.S. may have gotten into was maybe the 9/11 and in a replacement of us bugging into other peoples business we end up having the worst outcome and it could have been avoided if only the U.S. stayed in their own business.

unit 6 #1

Honestly its not good to be an any ones business. Their has been a few times i have been in someone else business and end up having everything looking bad on me.So its best to just stay out of it cause you don't wanna be in a bad predicament because you couldn't mind your own business. I was in this person business because the two that had an issue was my friend and cousin so i felt i should put in my opinion and i ended up looking as the bad person so fixed the situation on my behalf and from this day i try to stay to myself and stay out of other peoples business. It is never cool or appropriate for you to get into any ones business because they could turn the game around on you, and then you'll be looked at as the bad person. People should mind their own business at all times because getting into other peoples business makes nothing good for you but drama and plus when you tend to your own issues and no one Else's you tend not to be as stressed i know because i use to stay in peoples business and when i stopped & focused on me i felt alto better not only that but when you are in someone Else's business 9 times out of 10 someone else is in yours so its best to stay to yourself like me and now i accomplish alto more now.

Unit5 #1

I do think that people actions are driven by money. I think that’s why many people or vary people end up in jail because the fact its quick ways to get money. In my opinion I don’t think money lead’s to happiness because money doesn’t last for ever not only that but it can lead you to unhappiness being that people can lose lives over the simple fact of money. People that have money are no better than people who don’t have money it’s maybe a state of mind that I have more money so I'm better than you, but really it isn’t true, and it doesn’t matter. I’m not sure to know how the wealth get their money but imp sure it wasn’t easy. I think in order for me to get to wealth I would need to get a good education and continue it by studying something that will lead me to good wealth and finding maybe even owning my own business. It is not a responsibility to share with others but its nice to give back o the community and to bless others with what you have that they don’t have. You don’t have to but its would be nice to plus if you do in the long run you will be blessed with something twice as better, I would call it a blessing to share your wealth with others.

Unit2 # 7 Breaking the law

Chitara Long
Essay
Since the 20th century Americans have broken the law once and plenty times again. In the year of 1846 rejecting the law of land. Mr. Thoreau refused to pay his poll taxes. This was an idea of the tax refusal as a protest tactic being raised in black communities where they are free. At this time they were declaring “No privilege –No pay”. Early in those years around 1841Charles Lenox Raymond anticipated this ‘Civil disobedience’ & argued that African Americans should go to jail if they didn’t want to pay taxes. This would discriminate against them.Thier were some people who chose to protest individual instead of in organized activism. This sized upon the practice of conscientious refusal to pay the poll tax. Three years before Thoreau, Bronson Alcott a close friend of his was arrested for the same act. Thoreau’s motive was by the fact of refusing to pay the government he would rather stay in jail. He would rather stay in jail to set an example for his community. Although Thoreau’s plan backfired on him when he was released the next morning he was angry because he wanted to set an example which was not to be done because e some one played his debt of tax poll. That one night fell short of his heroic intuition.

Unit 4 #8 Poetry

Poem 1: Riffle:

On April 12 1867 i was the riffle of a confederate, confederate Pvt. Edmund ,i shot and spotted my place of disaster in Charleston North Carolina, i was the riffle that released my hornets out of my bread basket when the hunky but dorky bullets charged from my mouth, this first shot began something big , something that would change lives and that will go into history, i am the riffle that started a new begging i am the riffle that's gone make a change, a war, a historic story i am the riffle of Fort Sumter.

Poem 2:Freedmans School:

I am Freedman's school

i am one of many Freedman's schools in postwar south.

I am here to make sure kids are top rail

I make it snug as bug

my workers make sure that the students are fit as a fiddle, and toeing the mark

must i remind you that i am Freedman's school

I am here for the students to have a place of study

to learn how to read, write, & expand their thoughts

i am bully to see kids come in and do hard case work

& at the end of the day i enjoy seeing the kids

skedaddle down the long dirt roads knowing that i will see their smiling and bright faces the next morning

so again i must mention i am Freedman's school.

Unit 2 #6 My reflection of the Boston Massacre

The Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was a cruel story to read and hear about and i don't think i could have leaved in that time because of how bad the violence was all the fighting and killing going on it would be really hard for me to make it during the revolutionary time.
It would be hard to walk out and see people dead or badly injured right in front of you as you walk out of your home. Its kinda confusing i had to read it several times to actually get into this writing but i did and its really interesting but sad,and kinda crazy I'm not to fund of violence so this story probably was not the best for me.
The most shocking part for me was when i read this :the boys had dispersed he met the ten or twelve soldiers aforesaid rushing down the alley towards the square and asked them if they intended to murder people? They answered Yes, This passage here was most shocking if i heard the words come out of his mouth for myself it would have brought allot of fear and hurt to my heart. This is not anything i would ever want to experience.

Assignment 1 Unit 4

What led up to the fight?
The fight started b/c there were words that should have not been said that offended me and made me mad which made me angry with the person and i was no longer feeling nice towards the person. The words hurt so bad that i wanted to just hit them but i couldn't b/c i had to be the bigger person.
I tried to avoid letting the situation getting out of hand but the person kept saying stuff and wouldn't let anyone say what they had to say to the point i just bl owed up and said things i didn't mean to say which hurt the other person, so we both are now madder than ever.
This fight led people to cry, say hurtful things and people leaving just really frustrated and upset just filled with allot of anger.
The outcome is let each other know that we go take breaks. So we can deal with the problem in a positive way rather than fighting. this is a way that we all notice we can deal with our problems b/c we have allot of anger inside that we haven't deal ed with that can lead to arguing that can get way out of hand. But when you feel that way all you have to do is take a break, to get yourself togather and come back in a better way.

Unit 3 assignment 1

Growing up
For a while growing up was fun and adventurist. I can remember going to the movies, fairs, going to get ice cream and the thrill of the special holidays. But it hasn't always been that way. At times there were allot of moments in my life when i was unhappy, losing two nephews, all of my grandfathers, school, and people i thought was there for me who really wasn't. It was hard but i notice having friends, family and people who truly care helped me see i don't need the other people who wasn't really there to help me through my struggle. But to the people who is really not there just putting up a front to be in my business i picked you out and now that's why i no longer really continue to be involved with you but must i say thank you for making me strong and motivated to do the best i can.I wish non thing but the best to teens, kids, and even grown ups who are going through a struggle.

Assignment 7

Incidents in the life of a slave girl
What did you learn about life in the colonies from reading this document?

That back in slavery days, slaves had a hard time. The way slaves were treated so cruel and unfair is terrible but there were some mistress who had kind hearts. I also learned that it was no such thing as trust or promises with a Mister or Mistress back in slavery days. The trust and promises that were between the two would be false promises and trust but there were few who tried to make things right. One of the worst thing I really thought was not a nice look was that when someone in your family died you couldn't’t even go see your loved ones for comfort.
What surprised you the most about what you read?

The most surprising thing that caught my eye through the reading was that there were a few who did care or had little sympathy. Another interesting was that slaves were cheated of hard earning when the mistress and masters knew the earned what they had truthfully. The number one thing that makes me happy and surprise me the most is the fact the mistress and misters never wanted to hear anything about God or anything to deal with the lord they always walked away.

Compare and contrast the differences between American life today and for American life during the colonial era.
The difference between these two different centuries is that in today’s society the things that happened in the slave age couldn't’t happen now it would be nothing but a big war. Definitely not a good one the way things are know are so out of control that no mistress and masters could control the African American people because of the way we (African American) are raised these days. For example the way they try and cheat you out of your hard works earning African Americans these day’s will kill and fight for their things so cheating us out of earning in this day of age is out of question. Really and truly there is no explaining between the way things were then and how they are now let’s just say we, (African Americans) in this century would never bow down to the way things were then. Let’s say it a new breed of African Americans now. Back in slavery time majority of us would probably be killed or punished a lot.

1st Assignment

Assignment#1:

1.Most people come to the U.S. today because of the fact we have more freedom. The U.S. also have better qualities and other things that may be needed.Coming here to the U.S. immigrants gain more freedom and happiness. But the bad thing is sometimes immigrants coming to the U.S. effect the Americans life style. By that I mean for an example when Hispanics come over they don't pay taxes and the Americans basically take care of them out of their taxes which is unfair when they have the ability to drive nice cars and things with no problem but on the other hand , us the Americans struggle to have a nice car. This is just my opinion, others may think different.

2.If I could move any where it would be a nice place where I can have freedom that may not be given in the united states. As you can see I would immigrate for both reason freedom and economic purposes. I would do both because I would like to see what the differences is money wise and freedom wise.Where would i like to go I'm not sure but I don't wanna be any where, where there is not allot of violence. To make a long story short I would like to be some where that I wouldn't have to worry about much but happiness.
